Obtaining certified copy of a deed
Issuing of certified copy of a deed is done by 50 land registries established in Island wide. This service can be obtained by forwarding an application to the land registry of which the duplicates are handed over by the relevant notary public.
Duty Hours
8.30 am to 3.45 pm on week days.( cash counter is opened only up to 3.00 pm) Office is not opened on Saturdays, Sundays and public holydays.
Methodology for applying
Applications should be forwarded to the Land Registry to which handing over the duplicates of the Notary Public who is written and attested the document .

Application
Prescribed printed application should be forwarded. The number of the application is ‘A32 B’. Application can be downloaded by the web-site. ‘A32 B’

If the application is presented by an agent, a letter of empowering should be forwarded.
Fees
Payment of fees can be made by in cash or any branch of the Bank of Ceylon to be credited to the account number 7041650 of Registrar General’s . Bank receipt should be affixed.
Obtaining a copy of such deed of such land
- Normal service charge for one copy of a deed -Rs.600.00
- Speedy service (one day service) charge for a copy of one deed - Rs.1200.00
